Array and HKS Win Modern Healthcare Design Award for Ahuja Medical Center
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (October 2008) – Array Healthcare Facilities Solutions, consistently ranked as one of the top national healthcare design firms, recently won a 2008 Modern Healthcare Design Honorable Mention in the unbuilt awards category for the Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood, Ohio. The Modern Healthcare Award is the pre-eminent award for healthcare design. It is awarded only to those buildings that are truly remarkable in both planning and form. Each year hundreds of projects are juried in the unbuilt category and usually only two or three win. “This is an extraordinary accomplishment and the result of phenomenal teamwork” said Tom Zenty, President and CEO of University Hospitals (UH), the parent system for Ahuja. “Everyone has done a great job so far on this very special project, and this award is the result of stellar performance for all involved.” The 425,000 sf medical center is expected to be completed in 2010 and was made possible by a $30 million gift from Cleveland entrepreneur, Monte Ahuja, his wife, Usha, and their family in 2006.
