Florence McGrady Recognized by American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (July 3, 2008) – Array Healthcare Facilities Solutions, consistently ranked as one of the top national healthcare design firms, is pleased to announce the matriculation of Florence McGrady to the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID).

As a Senior Interior Design Principal and Shareholder with Array, Floss has developed a particular regard for the design and delivery of women's health facilities. For more than 20 years, she has been at the forefront of women's health and wellness center design. Her experience includes various models of labor and delivery care as well as early cancer screening, detection and treatment. She has designed top-ranked facilities for obstetrics, gynecology and their associated support.

“This recognition is a testament to Floss’ dedication and success in the field,” said Patricia Malick, AAHID, IIDA, Principal and Practice Area Leader, Interior Design at Array. “Her talent continues to take new shapes with her constantly growing project experience and client list.”

Floss McGrady is the 75th addition to the AAHID, after meeting the requirements set forth by the organization and passing advanced exams, which test the knowledge of healthcare design including codes, department of health requirements, medical equipment and JACHO.

The vision of the AAHID is “to be recognized by the healthcare industry as the certification board of choice in assessing and qualifying the knowledge, skills and abilities of healthcare interior designers. Board Certified Healthcare Interior Design certificants are distinguished and qualified by education, examination, work experience to practice healthcare interior design; and are set apart from other architects, designers, decorators, and interior designers. AAHID promotes research of healthcare interior environments and seeks collaboration opportunities to develop improved products for healthcare interiors.”

“With her successful matriculation into the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers, Floss McGrady has joined the elite of her profession,” said Peter Brooks, Executive Director, AAHID. “She is now recognized through her AAHID appellation as a highly successful, knowledgeable and capable designer who has mastered the unique challenges and demands of the healthcare interior design industry. McGrady has five years of experience, a portfolio that her peers feel demonstrates her excellence and she has completed a comprehensive exam that covers topics such as infection control, senior living facilities, codes and guidelines, evidence based design, etc.  AAHID matriculation is the highest professional achievement specifically for healthcare interior designers.”
